MEWEBLINK

Privacy Policy

How MeWebLink handles information used to operate this service.

Who is responsible

MeWebLink is operated by Boyan Minchev. Use the contact details on our Contact page for privacy questions, corrections or removal requests. This notice describes this application; our hosting provider also processes technical data to deliver the website.

Information you submit

We receive the URL, title, description, category and any optional language or region supplied with a submission. Approved listing details are public. Reports contain a listing reference, a reason and any optional explanation. Do not submit sensitive personal information. Ordinary submissions do not require an email address or account. Contacting us by email supplies your address and message to our mailbox provider.

Security and cookies

The application uses the connection IP address transiently to calculate a keyed pseudonymous identifier for rate limits and security events. It does not store the raw IP in its application data files. These identifiers can still be personal data. Essential session cookies support forms and submission confirmations. Our hosting provider may separately record IP addresses, request details and errors in server logs.

Purposes and legal bases

We use submissions and reports to operate and moderate the directory, and security information to prevent abuse. Where UK or EEA data protection law applies, we rely on legitimate interests in running a useful, secure service where appropriate, and consent for non-essential advertising or tracking where required. We may retain information to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Retention

Approved listing information remains until removed. New submissions awaiting an unavailable check are rejected after seven days. Quarantined records are retained for security review until the operator removes them. Rate-limit files older than two days and report records older than 90 days are cleaned automatically by the maintenance job. Inactive application session files are removed after 30 minutes by cleanup or session garbage collection. Email enquiries should normally be deleted by the operator within 90 days after resolution, unless needed for an ongoing dispute or legal obligation. Hosting access-log and backup retention depends on the hosting account settings; contact us for the applicable period.

Providers and international processing

Our hosting and mailbox providers process data needed to deliver their services. For automated screening, submitted and redirect hostnames are sent to Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 for Families DNS-over-HTTPS service; a bounded request to the destination reveals the server’s IP address and request details to that destination. We do not send the submitter’s IP address, title or description in those DNS queries. If Cloudflare Turnstile is enabled, Cloudflare receives technical information from your browser to prevent abuse; see Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. It is not a malware scanner. If Google advertising is enabled, Google and selected advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and, where permitted, personalise advertising. These providers may process information outside your country using their applicable safeguards. The consent interface identifies the active partners and choices.

Advertising choices

Advertising is disabled at initial launch. When enabled, we use a Google-certified consent platform and request ads only when our consent checks permit it. You can reopen privacy choices through the Cookie Policy link. Google uses information from partner sites as described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Manage Google ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com. Refusing advertising consent does not prevent directory submission. No analytics service is installed in the supplied application.

Your rights

Depending on your location and circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact us with enough information to locate the relevant listing or message. We may need proportionate verification. You may complain to your data protection authority; in the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children and changes

This service is aimed at website owners and general adult use; we do not knowingly seek children’s personal information. Contact us if you believe such information was submitted. We update this notice when our practices change and identify the current version below.
